A fantastic opportunity to sail on STS Lord Nelson Barclays Round Britain Voyage 2017

Would you like a fantastic opportunity to sail on Leg 2 on STS Lord Nelson from Great Yarmouth to Sunderland?
Carol Walsh of Barclays Wealth and Investment Management, Ipswich has invited an EAST disabled sailor to accompany her. The sailors must be over 16 years of age, non electric wheelchairs can be accommodated. Carol will be assigned your buddy and will take care of your needs.
Leg 2 sails from Great Yarmouth on Friday 7th April 2017 and is due to arrive Sunderland on Sunday 11th April 2017. It is intended that you will travel to Great Yarmouth on Thursday 6th April 2017 and sleep aboard STS Lord Nelson.
The cost will be covered by Barclays. Carol will raise a minimum of £800 for EAST and Barclays will match fund to cover the cost. Any funds over £800 EAST may keep. Barclays will also cover all the transport costs to Great Yarmouth and from Sunderland.
The successful applicant will be selected by a panel consisting of Carol and two EAST Trustees.

Curry Night and a donation from Global Inkjet Systems

Saturday 30th April was an excellent social night with chicken, lamb and vegetarian curries (+all the trimmings) prepared by Geoff, Pat and Linda. Andrew finished off a successful evening with a quiz which was won by the Maxwell family.

Jim Brotton (left) of Global Inkjet Systems kindly presented a donation to EAST, which was gratefully received by Andrew Renton.

April Boat Launch - East fleet

Saturday 9th April was wet and windy. The bosuns, John Maxwell and Mike Peacey organised the volunteers to launch the EAST fleet. Geoff and Linda kept morale up with tea, coffee and lunches. The photos were taken on the following day.

Ipswich East Rotary Club donate life jackets

On Saturday 5th March 2016, the President of the Ipswich East Rotary Club, Michelle Bevan-Margetts, presented EAST Chairman Geoff Dreher with five lifejackets. She was accompanied by Ross Lunney, fellow Rotarian and an EAST member. We are very grateful for the generous support of the Ipswich East Rotary Club.

Granta Lodge Donation

EAST was nominated by Gill Rowe, Grand Master of Granta Lodge, Cambridge, as her charity. The photograph shows Gill presenting a cheque for £856 to Chairman, Geoff Dreher, at a maintenance session which was held on 8th December 2015 at the EAST Waterside Community Centre. We are very grateful to the ladies of Granta Lodge for their generous donation.
