Just a thought.......................
Have you considered leaving the East Anglian Sailing Trust a legacy gift in your will?
How better than to leave a legacy to help the future of sailing for disabled people, improve their confidence in learning new skills and making new friends.
A gift to EAST could make such a difference and also reduce your estates tax liability.
Under current law, if your estate is worth more than £325,000, your beneficiaries will have to pay 40% of anything that is in excess of this threshold to HMRC.
If you leave gifts to charity in your will, the gift value will not be counted towards inheritance tax. This could reduce what your beneficiaries have to pay, or remove your inheritance tax liability altogether.
In April 2012, inheritance tax legislation changed, meaning in some situations, anyone leaving 10% or more of their taxable estate to charity may qualify for a reduced rate of inheritance tax of 36% rather than 40%.
